March 18, 2008 — The Celtics end the Rockets' 22-game winning streak by blowing them out by 20, 94-74, in Houston. Tracy McGrady is held to eight points in the loss on 4-of-11 shooting and would remark that the Celtics defense was the best he'd seen.

June 17, 2008 — In the biggest blowout in a clinching game in NBA history, the Celtics dismantle the Lakers, 131-92 to win the title. Garnett has 26 points and 14 rebounds. Allen scores 26 points, ties a Finals record with seven 3-pointers in one game and sets a Finals record with 22 treys in the series. Finals MVP Pierce finishes with 17 points and 10 assists. Rondo has 21 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and six steals.

The Celtics held their parade on Thursday. The Red Sox are in first place. Now if only those Patriots could get it figured out, the fans in Boston could really celebrate.
