Did LeBron James order a coverup after he got dunked on at a basketball camp? No, according to the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar. At the National Association of Black Journalists convention, James said the report of a college player dunking on him last month and the subsequent confiscation of recordings of that were overblown. "First of all, I never told anyone to confiscate any tapes," he said Thursday in Tampa, Fla. "Nike has a no-videotaping policy at pickup games. They've always done that. It just so happened that LeBron was involved, so now it's blown up. But it's a play in the game of basketball that happens all the time. You can go on YouTube right now and see me getting dunked on by a lot of guys." The controversy began when Xavier's Jordan Crawford dunked on James during a pickup game at the LeBron James Skills Academy in Ohio. Two videographers were recording the games and it was reported that a Nike representative confiscated tapes of the dunk after conferring with James. Nike, which runs the camp, said the tapes were confiscated because videotaping of after-hours pickup games at the camp is not allowed. Crawford had said his dunk happened in the first 20 minutes of a game that lasted about two hours and did not prompt any reaction from James. "We just went on playing," he said. "It was exciting just to be playing on the same court as him. I can see why he is so great at what he does." The Associated Press contributed to this report.
