Your Cavaliers questions answered

Got a Cavaliers question? Send it in. Submit your question to cleveland.com/heybrian, and Plain Dealer Cavs beat writer Brian Windhorst will choose at least one to answer each Sunday here in the sports section. All of Brian's answers are archived online.

Q: Hey, Brian: I keep hearing references to Shaq's good health last year being a result of the training staff in Phoenix. Are they widely recognized as superior to other training staffs in the NBA? If so, why? Can't the Cavs adopt some of their techniques, if necessary? I've always felt Max Benton did a good job. - Chris, Raleigh, N.C.

A: Hey, Chris: The Suns' training staff has an excellent reputation after helping Amare' Stoudemire recover from major knee surgery, Shaquille O'Neal overcome a troublesome hip, and keeping Steve Nash and Grant Hill running well in their mid-30s despite some chronic issues. The Cavs certainly will study the regimen given to Shaq and bring some of it to Cleveland. But the Cavs' staff has a list of accomplishments, too.

Athletic trainer Max Benton and strength coach Stan Kellers' Magnum Opus is Zydrunas Ilgauskas and his remarkable career following the reconstruction of his foot.

Their biggest challenge this season, though, will be to monitor Leon Powe's recovery from microfracture knee surgery.

- Brian
