PLAYER NOTES:

--F LeBron James finished second to Lakers G Kobe Bryant in Sporting News' list of the 50 greatest players in the NBA today. It was selected by a panel of 107 Hall of Famers, executives, current players and coaches and other basketball experts. Bryant beat out James for the No. 1 spot and received 62 first-place votes. James received 34 first-place votes and Heat G Dwyane Wade, who was third on the list, received 11 first-place votes. Magic C Dwight Howard was fourth, and Spurs F Tim Duncan fifth. Cavs C Shaquille O'Neal was ranked 16th.

--F Jamario Moon has become a fixture in the Cavs' rotation. In his previous four games, he's averaged 10 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25 minutes off the bench. He's also shooting 58 percent from the field in that span (15-of-26).

--F LeBron James said he's "50/50" on competing in the dunk contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in Dallas on Feb. 13. "I haven't thought about it, honestly," James said. "I've been too focused on us playing good basketball."

James said during All-Star Weekend last year that he wanted to compete in the 2010 event. He admitted before Wednesday's game that he might have got caught up in the heat of the moment.

"You can change your mind, right?" James said. "I'm 50/50 right now."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Leon Powe (ACL left knee, microfracture surgery left knee) will miss the first half of the season recovering from the surgeries. He's expected to return in January or February.
