Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-12-18

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-12-18
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mo Williams, Shooting guard Delonte West, Small forward LeBron James, Power forward Ben Wallace, Center Anderson Varejao. Bench -- Guard Sasha Pavlovic, Forward Wally Szczerbiak, Forward Darnell Jackson, F J.J. Hickson.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F LeBron James is shooting a career-high 80 percent from the free-throw line.

"I had a big party at my house, too," he joked. "I said before I wanted to shoot 80 percent. I know I'm a better free-throw shooter than I have been in my first five years. To set out a goal and accomplish it is always good."

In his last seven games, he's shooting 87.1 percent from the free-throw line (54-for-62).

--Vikings defensive back Antoine Winfield was in the stands on Wednesday at the Target Center and was recognized for making the Pro Bowl. A reporter reminded F LeBron James that he's from Ohio.

"He's from Akron," James said.

"Isn't that where they make tires?" the reporter asked.

"It's where they make superstars," James replied.

--F/C Ben Wallace is eighth in the NBA in blocks at 1.88 per game.

--F LeBron James said he can see improvement in both rookie F Darnell Jackson and F J.J. Hickson.

"The young guys are getting better every day," he said. "They are going to make mistakes, just like you do when you're a rookie. It happens. They are learning from their mistakes and are going to get better. We can help them get through a lot of situations. I have a lot of confidence in them. They are going to make mistakes. They are hard-working and they want to get better."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Eric Snow (knee) will retire as soon as the Cavs receive a disability claim from the insurance company.

--C Zydrunas Ilgauskas (sprained left ankle) could return for the Denver game on Friday if he has no complications.

--G Daniel Gibson (sprained left big toe) could return to practice sometime next week. He still has pain in the big toe when he pushes off. He said he's not ready for full contact. He also missed eight games with the same injury as a rookie.
