Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-12-17

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-12-17
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mo Williams, Shooting guard Delonte West, Small forward LeBron James, Power forward Ben Wallace, Center Anderson Varejao. Bench -- Guard Sasha Pavlovic, Forward Wally Szczerbiak, Forward Darnell Jackson.

PLAYER NOTES:

--The Cavs gave away Ben Wallace fright wigs for Friday's game. Wallace came into the locker room wearing one before the game. "I think it's a great opportunity for the fans to experience what I have to experience when I wear the 'fro," Wallace said.

--Cavs coach Mike Brown said F/C Ben Wallace still has the reputation of being an enforcer. "One thing you don't lose is that physical toughness," Brown said. "You can always go hit someone in the head. His demeanor alone is intimidating. When you have a guy who doesn't say much and keeps coming at you, it can be intimidating. That's something Delonte (West) has, too. He's relentless with his approach."

--F Jawad Williams not only made his NBA debut on Friday against Philadelphia, but he also scored his first field goal. "The best part about it was my grandmother (85-year-old Louvenia Hillmon of Cleveland) was at the game," Williams said. "She hasn't seen me play since second or third grade. I didn't even know she was going to be there."

--G Delonte West's shooting has abandoned him in the past four games. He's shooting 32 percent from the field in that span (17-for-53), 19 percent from 3-point range (4-for-21). He is averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 assists in those four games.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Eric Snow (knee) will retire as soon as the Cavs receive a disability claim from the insurance company.

--C Zydrunas Ilgauskas (sprained left ankle) could miss a week after stepping on the foot of Sixers F Donyell Marshall in Wednesday's game.

--G Daniel Gibson (sprained left big toe) will be sidelined at least another week. He was injured in the Toronto game on Tuesday.
