Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-11-13

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-11-13

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mo Williams, Shooting guard Delonte West, Small forward LeBron James, Power forward Ben Wallace, Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Bench -- Guard Daniel Gibson, Forward Wally Szczerbiak, Center Anderson Varejao.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Daniel "Boobie" Gibson attempted a rare dunk in the Chicago game on Saturday. However, he was blocked from behind by Bulls F Andres Nocioni. "He was going for it," teammate LeBron James said. "Nocioni being the hustle guy he is, didn't allow it. 'Boobie' has one dunk in his career. Hopefully he can get two." He had a big dunk at Indiana as a rookie in 2006 and hasn't had a slam since.

--C Zydrunas Ilgauskas said the coaching staff is making better adjustments this season. "We're playing good defense and making good adjustments during the game," he said. "If something doesn't work, whether it's pick-and-roll coverage or there's a breakdown in some area, we're making adjustments during timeouts or at halftime. We are mentally intuitive. It wasn't pretty against Indiana or Chicago. But we cleaned up some things and it worked."

--F LeBron James was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 3-9. It was the 14th time in his career he's won the honor. In four games during the week, James averaged an NBA-high 34.5 points and 9.8 rebounds and made 46.9 percent of his shots. He's now leading the league in scoring at 28.1 points per game. "We were able to go 4-0 during the week," he said. "I was just being myself."

--The Cavs shot 85.4 percent from the free-throw line in the previous three games (76 of 89). It's the first time they've been that successful at the line in a three-game stretch since Nov. 7-11, 2005. Led by G Mo Williams, the Cavs rank sixth in the NBA in free-throw attempts per game (28.9). Williams has missed one free throw on the season (25-of-26).

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Eric Snow (knee) will retire as soon as the Cavs receive a disability claim from the insurance company. He's not with the team.

--F Darnell Jackson (fractured left wrist) had the cast removed and is wearing a brace. He's close to returning to the practice court.
