Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-03-31

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-03-31
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Delonte West, Shooting guard Devin Brown, Small forward LeBron James, Power forward Anderson Varejao, Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Bench -- Guard/Forward Wally Szczerbiak, Forward Joe Smith.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Sasha Pavlovic was benched by coach Mike Brown for the Philadelphia game. Devin Brown is now the starting shooting guard. After missing 23 games with a sprained mid-foot, Pavlovic was inserted into the starting lineup immediately upon his return. But after weeks of inconsistent and largely unproductive play, he was benched. He was shooting 35 percent from the field and his defense was spotty.

--The Cavs called guard Delonte West's injury tendinitis in his left ankle. "It's been lingering for a while," he said. "It was from the tennis shoe I was wearing." West, who started Sunday's game, said his shoe was rubbing on a tendon in his ankle. "The tendon got inflamed," he said. "I got a new pair of (shoes), same brand, and I'm ready to go. After the Charlotte game, it was like a golf ball sitting on my ankle."

--F/C Anderson Varejao has averaged 11 rebounds per game in his last four games. He has grabbed at least nine rebounds in all four outings.

--F LeBron James' streak of 49 games with 20 or more points, which ended Saturday in Detroit, is the longest in the league since Kobe Bryant accomplished the feat in 63 consecutive games from Dec. 9, 2005 -- Nov. 3, 2006.
