Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-10-30

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Report 2008-10-30

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mo Williams, Shooting guard Delonte West, Small forward LeBron James, Power forward Ben Wallace, Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Bench -- Guard Daniel Gibson, Forward Wally Szczerbiak, Center Anderson Varejao, Center Lorenzen Wright, Guard Sasha Pavlovic.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Delonte West has officially been named the starter at shooting guard. "His versatility helps us out," coach Mike Brown said. At 6-3, he's one of the smallest shooting guards in the league, but he'll also be one of the quickest.

--G Daniel Gibson has a Batman logo shaved into the side of his head. When asked about it, he walked away, humming the "Batman" theme song.

--Coach Mike Brown is sticking with the idea of expanding his rotation to 10 players. One reason is to find ways for F LeBron James to get some rest. "I'm still trying to figure it out," he said. "It's an ideal way to get LeBron a little more rest."

--The Cavs like playing F LeBron James some at power forward. Of course, he's got the size at 6-8, 250. "We have a slotted time for him to be at the '4' every game," he said. "We'll have a combination of guys who will play alongside of him when he's at the '4.' If we like it, it's something we may go to."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Eric Snow (knee) will retire as soon as the Cavs receive a disability claim from their insurance company. He's not with the team.

--F Darnell Jackson (fractured left wrist) is sidelined for another month at least. It's going to be hard to break into coach Mike Brown's rotation when he gets back.
