--Either Cavs coach Mike Brown or Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy will be the Eastern Conference coach in the All-Star Game. If the Cavs (35-8) win their next game at Orlando on Thursday, Brown and the entire coaching staff will be headed to Phoenix.
They also host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday and travel to Detroit on Sunday. If the Cavs and Magic finish tied after Feb. 1, Brown will get the nod because Van Gundy -- then with Miami -- coached in the 2005 All-Star Game in Denver. "I would like to coach in that game for one reason: That would mean we have the best record," Brown said.
--Take note of Mo Williams and LeBron James each getting at least 23 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists. The last time two NBA teammates recorded those numbers was on Dec. 23, 1971, when Butch Beard (30 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists) and John Johnson (24 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists) did it for the Cavs at Atlanta.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's great to have that complementary player. I relieve pressure off him and he relieves pressure on me. It's a one-two punch that a lot of teams have in this league and a lot of teams wish they had." -- Cavaliers F LeBron James on his sidekick, G Mo Williams
