Cleveland Cavaliers Getting Inside 2008-03-21
Through 62 games this season, LeBron James has averaged 30.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.

All-time great Oscar Robertson is the only player in NBA history to average at least those numbers in a season when he averaged 31.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 11.0 assists per game in 1963-64.

In nine games during the month of March, LeBron James has averaged 35.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.9 assists in nine games during the month of March. He has scored 30 or more points in seven of the nine games. He has now scored 20 or more points in 46 straight games.

CAVS 89, PISTONS 73: The Cavs gutted out a victory over the Pistons on Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.

All-Star forward LeBron James scored a game-high 30 points, while center Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 20 points and eight rebounds in the nationally televised game.

The Cavs (39-30) have now won eight in a row at home, their longest streak since the 2005-06 season.

They accomplished the win with ferocious defense. They held the Pistons to 39.7 percent shooting and 73 points -- a season-low for an opponent this season. It was also the lowest total against the Cavs since they held the Knicks to 68 points on March 23, 2007.

"When we get stops, good things happen for this team," Cavs power forward Ben Wallace said.

In their winning streak at home, they've held opponents to an average of 85.9 points and 42.3 percent shooting. They've held six of their eight opponents to fewer than 90 points.

"We put together a complete game on the defensive end of the floor," Cavs coach Mike Brown said.

Ben Wallace and Anderson Varejao took turns guarding Pistons' center Rasheed Wallace, who had 16 points and six rebounds for the Pistons (49-19). However, he shot 6-of-17 from the field.

Wally Szczerbiak, who has struggled since the Feb. 21 trade, added 10 points and four rebounds for the Cavs.
